The Ergathon 2017
The club has now settled back into the schedule of training and our looking forward to our calendar year of racing. That said, the term has so has been a busy and successful start for the club which all began back in mid-September in which the club held our annual 24 hour Ergathon, where some of our most dedicated members took on half hour slots to row throughout the night from midday to midday.
The Erg-a-Thon is a personal highlight for most, if not all, of our dedicated members and has become a staple of our freshers week since its inception almost a decade ago. Since then we have raised money for a few different charitable organisations, including our most recent association with Maggie's Centre Cancer Care.
In a spectacular display of the camaraderie between town and gown, the total raised for Maggie's Centre was £1,662.02, an incredible amount that makes the distance rowed all the more worthwhile. This means since 2015 the club has raised over £5,500 for Maggies.
