FROM FOUNDATION TO THE EIGHTIES
The University of St Andrews Boat Club was founded in 1962 by John Browne. Finding a boat from Newcastle and eventually a suitable stretch of water at Guardbridge, John had founded the club! The club history becomes a little hazed from the 1960s until around 2000, so do get in touch to either ap_rowing@saints-sport.com or ustabc.history@gmail.com to help us plug the gaps in our ever unfolding history!

ONE MAN WENT TO ROW
In 1962, John Browne came to St Andrews to study Chemistry. He left having founded the University of St Andrews Boat Club in the most extraordinary of circumstances.
